As a non Muslim I’ve been intrigued by the acceptance of fate among Muslims but what has transpired over recent years has helped me to understand the wisdom of it. Ultimately the hedonism of the West cheapens life while embracing one’s mortality makes life so much more precious.

Sinwar’s honourable death contrasts so sharply with pleasure obsessed Israeli soldiers who most certainly don’t want to die that it’s plain to see who actually values life. For Israelis to consider Palestinian lives to be inferior exposes their contempt for life itself.
