Beautifully written and excellently delivered. It was so pleasing to read something I could wholly engage with and to finish with a sense of satisfaction.

Obama and Clinton perfectly represent the perversity of modern America and the feeling of nausea that people around the world have. It’s a dying empire and the decay is palpable.

Yet your list of heroes made me realise why we are drawn to American culture, not because of its leaders and idols but because of its dissidents and counter cultures like jazz and the blues.

It allows me to feel some satisfaction in appreciating western culture instead of a gnawing sense of disgust which the current climate leaves me with.
