Confessions of a Penitent, Non-conformist Introvert

If you thought this was going to be a good read you might have misread the title. A more honest title might be “Wingeing loser’s Boring Shit” or “Boring loser’s Wingeing Shit”.

But hey, we’re here, so let me elucidate (that’s one of those words that suggest nuance but does not deliver). The penitent non-conformist is one who rebels in haste and repents at leisure. Its the product of an independent spirit with no self confidence or self-belief, except there is an internalised belief that refuses to compare or contrast with reality.

Introversion is the logical outcome because the structures for helping non-conformist introverts break out of their self centred cycle of destruction rarely exist. Both affirmation and criticism can be productive and destructive, independently and combined. Even where such a person is understood (to a greater or lesser degree) their greater environment is often hostile and not conducive to positive development.

Whether this is true or not, its been observed that children of child psychologists are likely to be at least as screwed up as any other child. Life is its own instructor and interventions can often be counter-productive. I’ve found that when I’ve been probed for reasons why I act or think like I do, I tend to give answers that please the enquirer. I’ve also often found…
