Excellent piece. It strikes me that what we are now seeing is a version of the Nazi phenomenon of the 1930’s where previously there was a nucleus of Nazis within a nation of onlookers and now there is a nation of Nazis within a collective West looking on.
Unfortunately this breaks down pretty quickly when you look deeper. Miko Peled made the point that you can protest the genocide in Israel without fearing for your life unlike in Germany.
It’s said that the Holocaust is unparalleled because of the industrial scale of it. Yet the organic nature of this genocide makes equally horrific in its outcome but possibly more so in its profile.
