Hasn’t it always been this way? Is it worse now that the consequences are more dire? The likelihood that we pass a point of no return has never been so real.
What terrifies me is that while we are all more aware of the reality of the crisis we are too easily divided. For evil to succeed all we have to do is disagree on what to do about it.
The Ukraine situation nails this for me. Why can’t we all agree that the war must end instead of getting divided yet again by the false rhetoric around sovereignty when the sovereignty in question has nothing to do with the sanctity of life.
Then in Palestine the importance of belonging is obscured by dissociating it from what it means to be human. At this point where all our ducks ought to be in a row, it feels like we are more divided than ever?
