I could live like this wasn’t happening but I am always questioning my own conscience and it feels like if I share in the grief of Israelis that somehow the Palestinian cause will die. This isn’t my opinion, it’s what I feel, and it’s because we are constantly told how unspeakably evil Hamas is as an excuse for Israel’s violence.
The world ignored the despicable behaviour of Israel in response to the Great March of Return. That’s why many of us have to battle with our instincts over the incidents on Oct 7th. It should also be noted that the Hamas attack was directed at Israel, not the Jews. Israel’s war is against Palestinians, not Hamas.
