I don't believe this can be likened to a witch hunt & its completely understandable why these women would hide behind the press because the law is pretty skirtless in this regard. If Brand is in the dock he has millions of loyal fans standing with him on the basis that he speaks for them which I find particularly dubious.

You have a point on the face of it but I, personally, believe this episode is a useful time of reflection.
