I feel like a total heel responding as a man. Of course #NotAllMen is wrong because it completely misses the point and belittles the message. I always feel conscious when walking behind a woman because I get how creepy that could feel and I hate how men objectify women. But this article troubles me.
I feel for you but I also feel you've overstated the normality of these men. From the outset they were a bunch of drunk white men and as soon as they began the banter they engaged in behaviour that's not normal. What they looked like or how they might be perceived by friends and family is irrelevant.
What they did was disgusting and such behaviour should not be tolerated.
