I might be off the mark here but reading this piece I'm thinking of a beautiful woman with a beautiful house, beautiful kids and every luxury she ever dreamt of. Having friends who adore her. Yet she has an abusive husband who vets her friends, checks her phone, and interrogates her spending. She lives in a prison that she wears like a loose house coat. She lives for the hours her husband is away and the illusion that she has everything she needs.
