I never got the 40 hour week and never wished to spend my life behind a desk 9 till 5. I know I would have been better off and my peers have proved this to be so. What I'm having to learn now is that I was a round peg in a square hole and not to regret it.
Young people don't have the opportunities I didn't take advantage of but they also reject the square hole and square people who took away their opportunities. It's ridiculous that you should work through the best years of your life in order to enjoy your later years (if you survive that long).
When you look at the poverty in the richest countries in the world you know something is seriously wrong. You should work to make life better, not to survive. I could do the job of those making 20x what I'm earning while those around me are working their buts off for nothing.
