I think you'll find that whatever Hamas has done and however much that is condemned, the response by Israel is the deciding factor. Hamas don't need to be respected but Israel does. Everyone can see that it is acting like the oppressor in the Holocaust. It can no longer use the Holocaust as currency in its brutalisation of Palestinians.
