I think you’re right. Same sex marriage, for all its potential to be a hot debate, passed under a Conservative government and hardly ever comes up. Transphobia only has power in lurid stories. There isn’t much of a trans issue when it comes to seats of power because it doesn’t threaten the patriarchy.
