It was instructive, during Trump’s first term, to hear people from the mid-west say why they had voted Trump. They hadn’t voted for him because they believed in him, they would have voted for a pink banana so long as it wasn’t a Democrat. Obama had betrayed them so badly while Hillary Clinton represented all that was wrong with these liberals.

The liberals of the eastern and western seaboards have turned out to be cheerleaders of identity politics and decadent morality. They are blinded by their virtue to the fundamental values their forefathers abandoned in their settler colonialist endeavours.

If there’s anything to be gained from a Trump presidency it will require the American people to take stock of the failed project that is the USA while the Democrats lick their gaping wounds.
