It’s very useful for us to understand the pathology of a gun massacre and what the motivations are. The more it can be seen objectively the more likely a resolution can be found. But I can’t get away from the truth that the availability of guns is a singular reason for America’s epidemic of mass shootings. There may be many ways to put out a fire but starving it of oxygen is singular in its application.
The sense of insignificance is a social disease that has widespread ramifications including gun deaths. Drug overdose kills more people than guns. It’s useful to understand that gun regulation, while powerful, is not a fix all.
