My problem with this is that you are critiqueing the Bible on the basis of modern day fanatics and perverts who would find a way to use anything religious to justify their deviant behaviour. The vast majority of those who value the Bible would find Jerry Falwell and paedophile priests as obnoxious as you do.

You are trashing magnificent literature that has had more influence on the English Language than any other. Its unfortunate that you can’t get past your bias however much you can justify it.
