On reading this my overriding thought is that of the west being unserious. Far from being passive and unresponsive to the genocide, the collective west (as it’s now seen by the grownups) has been the supporting actor rather than the careless bystander.

The current calls for a ceasefire have been like an audience clapping to a prompt. It’s less the normalisation of genocide than a total denial that any real wrong has been done. What I see is a west that is leaderless and amoral.

Joe Biden truly is a world leader in that his cognitive decline and history of being the uncle you wouldn’t leave your kids alone with, he sums up the current work order.
