Russia offered a peace deal before the invasion (or the SMO as they call it). Like it or not, Russia is in the driving seat and the longer Ukraine is supported militarily in this conflict the less it will have when the fighting ends. Its horrible to watch but Ukraine is destroying itself while the West cheers from the stands.
