Day 10
Its quiet out there and so the day will continue. I normally work on my own so going through the day without social interaction is not uncommon for me but then we all spend a third of our time in our own world of dreams or dreamless sleep. What the World Wide Web has done is not just join us together but create new channels of communication. Its a kind of evolution in which we’ve adapted our behaviour and though this physical isolation creates some anxiety we seem to have transitioned fairly gracefully into a different kind of society.
Unfortunately we’re currently like a failed electricity supply where the earth and neutral are down and we only have the live. There is no body language or facial expression or physical space to complete the experience and cement our social cohesion. The vehicle of communication is information and there’s tons of it (could it be weighed). Protocols do exist but without the constraints we are accustomed to and with others we have to navigate.
I need to transition to a balanced diet. Maybe social soup for starters, a work burger for main course and some light reading or musical recreation for afters
