There is a circular theme around the book of Samuel and Esther wherein Amalek is spared and then becomes an existential threat to Israel. It's almost the reverse of the Holocaust and the Nakba. The last 100 years has seen a vicious circle with the rise of fascism in Europe, the supposed defeat of fascism and its resurgance. The West (including Israel) is a cesspit of fascism that just never got cleaned out.

My only hope is that the fascist, colonialist West will finally expire giving way to a new era led by the global South. It's just so unfair that Palestine is being held hostage in this mud fight.
